I've been meaning to post these pictures for ages. The first couple are from te live Ustream of the filming of episode 6. Something I can't locate  now, although I do have somewhere is some filming of a dog, which I can only presume is Laika, Walzer's dog. Given that we see Walzer open a door of a house, I'm guessing we'll see his digs. In fact given the whole tone of the teaser I believe many of the events in episode 6 will take place some time after the end of the quarantine.

Episode 5 teaser stills

As promised here are the stills for the episode 5 teaser:

I'm still having a life-shortening experience trying to put text between the pictures, so her are my observations. I'm really pleased with the look of this trailer. New characters, new locations and more action.

First of all the characters. The slightly scruffy guy seems to be a friend of Walzer's judging by the smiling and hugging. I have to wonder if he's the same person who was on the end of the phone at the end of episode 4. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.

The action in pictures 3 and 4 seem to show a chase scene. Who is the out of focus person in 4? Looks like Walzer to me.

In the trailer of the few seconds in pic 6 there seems to be a military camouflage uniform walk past. This would concur with the rest of the trailer that the quarantine is being shut down.

I love the final pic. I can't wait to find out what they're looking at.

As usual please post any comments or theories below.

Episode 5 and 6 spoiler round up

The Facebook page and this link strongly suggest that the characters Sophie Larson and Vernon are leaving the show! I suppose there's room for the idea that they've finished shooting for this season only, but this is probably wishful thinking. I for one would hate to see them go and can't imagine how the show would proceed without them, but we'll have to wait and see.

This video shows a make-up artist discussing blood. In a previous post I showed Bracey with some fake blood, but that was some time ago and we've yet to see any, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Video short 4 shows a press conference taking place with Tom Taylor, this was also mentioned in another short I can't find at the moment.

Five questions

A few days ago Josh "The Co-Creator" Bernhard proposed I ask five yes or no questions which he would answer. (He actually said there was one question he wouldn't answer, but I feel that to reveal the question would be cheating.) Belwo are the results of those questions. Of course now I wish I'd asked different questions, but that's always the way:

P1FS: Are you planning any scenes located off-planet?

JB: Not this season.

P1FS: Will there be a storyline about a romantic involvement between Yuri and Jane?

JB: You're watching it.

P1FS: Is anyone on the DHS team (including Francis Norton) not what they seem, in terms of either their allegiance or knowing more than we think they do?

JB: No. (But you should have a beer with Norton some time.

P1FS: Will we be meeting any more cosmonauts?

JB: Yes

P1FS: Aside from the coordinates, do the numbers appearing on the computer at the end of episode 1, have any significance?

JB: No

Known Knowns and Known Unknowns

In advance of Thursdays episode I thought I would post a round up of what spoilers have not yet come to pass:

"Triangular Diplomacy" will give us a perspective on the events of the story from the outside world.

We've not yet seen the blood promised from the Facebook page.

Jane should be speaking some Russian.

This link will take you to the preview for episode 3, it shows:

A Russian diplomat getting shirty; Jane and Yuri; mysterious comments from Tom Taylor.

I can't find it now but there's a video of a DHS type talking at what looks like a press conference and being a bit aggressive.

That's all I can think of, let me know if anyone knows anything else.

A call for actors has appeared on Craigslist for characters appearing in episodes 5 and 6. You should read the whole thing, but this is about the new characters specifically:

ALEXEI CHERTOV

- late 30s to late 50s
- caucasian
- MUST be able to speak with a Russian accent. Do not apply for this role if you cannot speak with an accent.
Description: Russian. Literal rocket scientist. Warm and gregarious, but single-minded when it comes to his work.

FOREIGN MINISTER
- NON UNION

Spoiler round up

No idea if this is canonical, but it appears Zachary Walzer has a twitter account, and asks if anyone can feed his dig, whose name is Laika. This was the name of that Russian first dog in space who was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome.

At the New York screening apparently Josh and Bracey were asked if Tom and Sofie will ever get together romantically, but the creators were mum. This obviously means YES.

Not really a spoiler, more a theory. Could Francis Norton be named after Leland Francis Norton, a WWII pilot who gave his name to Norton Air Force Base, a location often mentioned by Fake Moon Landing nuts as the site where the 'fake' moon footage was filmed? No, probably not.
